Plug in!
Posted on Fri Jun 27 2008
Folks,
As we are now well into the summer months, and at the time the Lord led me to write this also right in the middle of another awesome VBS, a word of encouragement I hope and pray in a couple of areas......
First,
plug in! This is something that is very special about Bethesda. Specifically, there are many various ministry opportunities the Lord is opening for us. And one of my objectives is to help everyone discover where and how they can serve at Bethesda. Maybe I am being naive, maybe not being realistic, or just maybe I am believing God has started something very special here and has such special plans for everyone! I truly believe we can operate as a body of believers where literally everyone is plugged in to some kind of ministry and serving. It may not be the 'norm' but who wants to be the 'norm'? Not me!!
Galatians 6:9 tells us to not lose heart or grow weary in doing good (ministry), for in due time we shall reap a harvest! Isn't it awesome that God
promises a harvest!
Another area I want to encourage you in is to keep God in your summer plans. Vacations, reunions, picnics, and so many other summer plans are all good. But make sure you still have time for God. He always makes time for us! In Deuteronomy 5:15, the Lord tells us to remember that we were once enslaved, He delivered us with His mighty hand and by an oustretched arm, and that He commands us to keep holy the Sabbath. This is the day we gather to worship the One who gave us His best, that we might have eternal life yes, but also that we may have an abundant life today!
Keeping God first always makes our other plans better!
God bless you and yours,
Bro. Tim
